I reviewed two presentations by other students this week. Although most of the information was what I already knew, I did learn a few neat things. I loved how both presentations were completed in Prezi. This seems like it could be a useful tool for organization of notes for students. Also, I never thought how Skype does tap into language acquisition as well as discussion elements if speaking with a guest speaker such as an author.
There are some really neat sites I am excited to try. Everyone had some good finds that I want to investigate further in the future, but the ones that caught my immediate eye were sites to create timelines (http://www.xtimeline.com/), free educational films (http://www.snagfilms.com/), and one that I found that has podcasts to use in classrooms or for personal listening by students, teachers, and others (http://www.podcast.denverlibrary.org/)
It was interesting to explore other search engines other than Google. Although Google will still be my primary search engine, I definitely will keep in mind DuckDuckGo with the instant calculator and conversion calculator.
