Another week...

I never thought that our small community could be affected by the virus, but it has.  A very nice man who is a pastor of a church has the virus and is fighting for his life.  He went in last week because he was not feeling very well and because he is a healthy and vibrant man, they sent him home.  A few days later, he was on a respirator and is now fighting for his life.  Please say additional prayers for Pastor Val Swinton.

I was able to finish audio recording one of the novels chosen for one of the three reading units for my students.   If you enjoyed Holes, you will enjoy Fuzzy Mud.  Both are written by Louis Sachar.  There are some things in the novel that seem relevant to what is happening in the world today.

I still continue to worry about all children that are food insecure right now.  On Facebook, a mom in Charles City posted about needing food but their food pantry was not open.  There were some very nice women that we going to share some of their extra food with her.

Although there have been negative happenings, like charging twice the amount for a thermometer, I do see many positive things occurring.  Two local towns nearby, both of our hometowns, Greene and Allison, had a parade of the EMS vehicles and personnel through the towns in order for homebound people to feel still like life is happening.  We are so fortunate to be living and going to church in an area where neighbors are still neighbors and friends.
